Adlicio Review 2026 - Reddit + 29 Other Sources Turned Into Ad Angles

A detailed review of Adlicio (formerly Reddit Comment Scraper) covering the multi-platform comment and review scrapers, live comment mining, ranked ad angles and hooks, Claude MCP integration, CLI, pricing from $9.99/month, and where it fits versus GummySearch.

Adlicio (previously "Reddit Comment Scraper") sits in a category that used to be defined by GummySearch: pull real customer comments from social platforms and marketplaces, then compress them into something a marketer can actually ship, ad angles, objections, and hooks. GummySearch shut down; Adlicio's pitch is to inherit that job, expand well beyond Reddit, and make the whole thing callable from inside Claude or any MCP client.

This review covers what the product is, what it costs, where it fits, and where it doesn't.

What Adlicio Is

Adlicio is a customer-voice research tool. You give it a topic, a product, or a niche. It sorts public comments and reviews from Reddit, YouTube, Amazon, Etsy, Steam, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Quora, Hacker News, App Store, Google Play, eBay, AliExpress, TripAdvisor and Google Reviews into ranked ad angles and hooks. Adlicio's pricing page cites "+30 sources" on the All Access tier; the homepage enumerates around 16 of those by name.

It then ranks what it pulls into: customer avatars, ranked hooks tagged by emotion/curiosity/stakes, native ad scripts, and objection lists weighted by upvotes on the source thread. The output is aimed at DTC founders, media buyers, copywriters, and agencies who need to write ads that echo the language customers already use.

Live counters on the site: 8.6M+ comments scraped, 5,700+ subreddits monitored, 830+ operators. The browser extension (Reddit Comment Scraper on Chrome Web Store) currently reports 6,000 users and a 4.5-star rating (24 reviews), published by DDTECH SOLUTIONS LLC (Adlicio's parent).

The workflow, in screenshots

The starting point is a brand profile. You drop your URL, Adlicio reads the site and drafts a brand foundation you can review and confirm. This profile is what every subsequent research run inherits, so the AI is never re-briefed each time you query:

Once the brand is set up, running research kicks off a background job that sources discussions, reads comments, finds sub-avatars, and pulls ranked angles. Progress is transparent:

The audience-brief output surfaces top complaints and buyer profiles ("Beginner Scraper", "Intermediate Scraper", etc. in our test workspace) grouped by real quotes from source threads:

The angles library ranks every angle Adlicio surfaced with source-thread grounding, so you can trace each angle back to the comments it came from:

The hooks view then compresses each angle into 5 to 10 cold-traffic hook variations tagged with the emotion or pattern they lean on (problem-aware, solution-aware, open-loop, pattern-interrupt, and so on), plus a scored rating out of 6:

If you want to run against a specific URL rather than a topic (a Reddit thread, a YouTube video, a review page), the signal-intake page pulls comments directly and files them into your workspace history:

Everything you have ever scraped stays in a persistent history you can search and re-open:

Pricing

Plan Price Research Runs Sources Key Extras
Pro $9.99/month 30/month Reddit only Unlimited Reddit scrapes, CSV export, 10 Claude MCP runs, saved history
All Access $49.99/month 250/month All sources Top TikTok + Instagram hooks, 250 Claude MCP runs, CLI, export API, 3 seats
Team $99.99/month 750/month All sources 4 seats, pooled budget, one invoice, direct founder access

Yearly billing is 50% off. Free signup, no credit card, for the entry tier trial. Pro is essentially "just Reddit" and works for solo operators who need light usage. All Access is the meaningful tier: unlocks every platform, the CLI, and enough MCP runs to actually integrate the workflow into daily Claude use.

The MCP Integration

The hosted MCP connector is Adlicio's most concrete differentiator against dashboard-only research tools. Setup is standard MCP-remote-connector plumbing:

  • Connector URL: https://mcp.tryadlicio.com/mcp
  • Add via Settings, Connectors, "Add custom connector" in Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok, or Le Chat
  • Google OAuth once in the browser, then it works across clients

Once connected, you can ask questions like "What are the top objections for magnesium citrate?" or "What are the top hooks for creatine?" and Adlicio pulls fresh comments per query, ranks them, and returns them inline in your chat. Data is fetched live per query, so the model is reading current threads, not a cached snapshot.

Note that Syften also ships an MCP integration, but Syften's is oriented around alert delivery (surfacing new mentions as they arrive), whereas Adlicio's MCP is oriented around research output (ranked angles, hooks, and avatars pulled on demand). Both use MCP; the payload shape and workflow differ.

For developers, there is also a commentscraper CLI (All Access tier), plus a REST API returning newline-delimited JSON and webhooks (brand_research.completed, audience_research.completed) with signed deliveries via X-Adlicio-Signature for pipeline use.

Where It Fits

Good fit:

  • DTC and ecom marketers writing paid social ads who want language pulled directly from customer comments rather than invented in a Google Doc
  • Founders doing pre-launch positioning research: "what are people actually complaining about in this category?"
  • Copywriters mining objections and hooks to make campaigns more concrete
  • Anyone who was using GummySearch and needs a replacement that also covers Amazon and TikTok, not just Reddit
  • Claude power users who want customer-voice data as a native tool inside their normal AI workflow

Not a fit:

  • General-purpose web scraping (Adlicio is a downstream analysis product, not a scraping framework like Scrapy or a scraping API like ScraperAPI, if you want raw HTML from any URL, you want those instead)
  • Regulated industries needing compliance-audited data sources (residential proxy providers with strict sourcing docs are the right tool)
  • Real-time streaming/monitoring: Adlicio is query-time on demand, not a continuous firehose. Syften (real-time with 1-minute delay) and F5Bot (free tier available) are purpose-built for that alert-driven workflow

How It Compares

The nearest reference points, most named by the Adlicio team as the frequent comparison set:

Tool Positioning Coverage Note
GummySearch Reddit research: discover, search, analyze subreddits for ideation and demand validation Reddit only Shut down 30 Nov 2025; Adlicio positions as the natural replacement
Syften AI-filtered keyword monitoring with alerts within a 1-minute delay on Reddit (up to 15 minutes on X/Twitter) 15 sources: Reddit, Hacker News, X/Twitter, Bluesky, Mastodon, Indie Hackers, Slack, Discourse, Stack Overflow, GitHub, Lobste.rs, Dev.to, YouTube, podcasts, public web Alert-first workflow. Also offers MCP integration, but for surfacing new mentions rather than research output
F5Bot Keyword alerts with AI filtering Reddit, Hacker News, Lobsters Simpler alert scope than Syften; free tier is meaningful
Brand24 AI-powered social listening at enterprise breadth (sentiment, word clouds, 108 languages) 25M+ sources across social, news, blogs, forums, reviews, podcasts Broad brand-monitoring bracket, higher price tier, not focused on ad-copy output
Brandwatch Enterprise consumer intelligence with proprietary + generative AI 100M+ sources across social, news, search, plus in-house Social Media Management (formerly Falcon) and Influence (formerly Paladin) for influencer marketing Highest-end enterprise tier; used by "thousands of the world's biggest brands"; overkill for a solo operator
SparkToro Audience research (podcasts/YouTube channels/sites/hashtags an audience actually follows) Broad web + social behavior signals (site bot-blocked to WebFetch; positioning per Adlicio's own alternatives page and public reputation) Different job: "where is my audience" (SparkToro) vs "what do they actually say" (Adlicio)
Foreplay Ad workflow platform: swipe file, ad library scraper (Spyder), creative analytics (Lens), briefs Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, LinkedIn ad libraries; 100M+ ads in Discovery Adjacent, not overlapping: Foreplay saves and analyzes existing ads, Adlicio generates angles from customer comments
Mention Brand monitoring and social listening (per Daniel's suggested competitor list; site bot-blocked so specifics best confirmed on mention.com) Broad social + web (per public knowledge) Similar bracket to Brand24
Apify General web scraping platform: pre-built actors (including Reddit) plus custom actor development Thousands of actors across all site types Not an ad-angle tool; you get raw data and build the analysis layer yourself

The clean way to think about it: Adlicio's job is "listen plus interpret" (raw comments in, ranked ad-ready angles out), bundling comment and review scrapers for Reddit, YouTube, Amazon, Etsy, Steam and a dozen-plus similar sources into one tool. Syften and F5Bot are alerting tools that have added AI filtering but still deliver mentions, not synthesized ad angles. Brand24 and Mention are enterprise brand-monitoring tools with sentiment analytics. Apify is a general-purpose scraping platform that requires you to write your own analysis. Adlicio's specific slot is: mid-priced ($49.99 for full access), analysis-first (angles/hooks/avatars, not raw mentions), and AI-native (MCP as a first-class delivery channel alongside browser and CLI).

Strengths

  • Multi-platform coverage in one product. Reddit, YouTube, Amazon, Etsy, Steam and a dozen-plus other comment and review sources in one product, no need to stitch together separate scrapers.
  • Live query results. No stale index; each run pulls current threads, which matters when the goal is capturing this week's language.
  • The MCP layer. Being callable from inside Claude/ChatGPT means the output lands in the exact context where copy gets drafted, no CSV export detour.
  • CLI and API for pipeline use. Rare in this product category; most competitors are dashboard-only.
  • Aggressive entry pricing. $9.99 for Reddit-only puts it in "just try it" territory.

Drawbacks and Caveats

  • Pro is Reddit-only. The real product is All Access at $49.99. Position Pro as a taste-test tier.
  • Not for anti-bot-hard targets. If a platform is behind heavy bot protection, expected coverage should be checked per-source before committing.
  • Newer brand with less independent benchmarking. Live counters and testimonials on the site are the company's own; independent third-party head-to-heads against Syften or Brand24 are thin.
  • Category-specific value. If you are not doing ad copy, positioning, or customer-language mining, the ranked-hook output is less directly useful.
  • Per-platform freshness varies. Some sources (TikTok, Instagram) are anti-bot heavy; freshness and completeness will realistically vary across the 30 scrapers even if the marketing bundles them uniformly.

Verdict

If your job involves writing customer-facing copy (ads, landing pages, positioning) and you were previously using GummySearch or manually rummaging through Reddit threads, Adlicio is the clearest current answer. The multi-platform coverage plus the MCP-native workflow are the two features that meaningfully differentiate it from the alternatives listed above.

For general-purpose web scraping needs, this is not the tool, look at ScraperAPI or Bright Data. For real-time monitoring, look at Syften. But for the specific job of "pull real customer voice from where it lives and rank it into hooks and angles I can ship this week", All Access at $49.99/month is a reasonable entry.

Disclosure: Scraping Central received a one-month All Access test account from the Adlicio team for the purpose of this review. Screenshots throughout this post are from our own test workspace under the "Scraping Central" brand. This did not influence the analysis: pricing, positioning, and product claims above are drawn from Adlicio's public site, MCP setup docs, and our own hands-on testing.
